![]() ![]() Built in Unreal Engine 5, the sequel to 2015's Tekken 7 will bring decade-old traditions to an all-new shell for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. To put it straight, Tekken 8 is an upcoming action game by Bandai Namco. However, for the sake of keeping it trimmed and somewhat to-the-point, here's everything you need to know about it. With that, a new era is set to be ushered in - and it'll be heading to consoles and PC.įortunately, Bandai Namco hasn't been overly coy about sharing details on Tekken 8. Matter of fact, the project as a whole is laden with snippets that pertain to its characters and its gameplay. As for when Tekken 8 will release is still anybody's guess, although according to its devs, the long-awaited sequel will be a “turning point” for the everlong feud between Jin and Kazuya. You can check out the full Harada's Bar episode below.Bandai Namco is, quite literally, getting ready for the next battle, with development on its next chapter in the Tekken saga finally underway. We're only 4 months away from the start of Evo, so we're not too far away from when we'll hopefully get to see what the Tekken team is currently cooking up. ![]() Ultimately, this is still speculation based in part on vague answers of a developer who is known for messing with his fans, but history does seem to back up his points. While Tekken 6 and 7's arcade releases did predate Street Fighter 4 and 5 respectively, their home console launches saw Capcom's flagships hit shelves 6 months and 16 months before, and arcades likely won't be nearly as high of a priority this time around given their decline in Japan. Ultimate on top of Tekken 7, potentially implying that Bamco may not be quite as far along on their new project as Capcom is with SF6.Ĭonsidering we're expecting to see Street Fighter 6 release sometime during the first quarter of 2023, Bandai Namco's next title likely won't launch until at least 6 months later if previous precedent is anything to go on. Harada also points out, however, that his team also developed Pokkén Tournament and Super Smash Bros. ![]() Tokido and Aoki bring up the possibility of Evo 2022 being the place to pull back the curtain, which Harada doesn't really object to, and that does seem like the best candidate for a big Bandai Namco announcement considering Tekken and Soul Calibur's long history doing so at the massive fighting game major. If this does all ring true, then it could still be a good number of months of waiting before we get to see whatever Tekken's development team is working on with Street Fighter 6 promising to announce more information this summer. We only asked them to reschedule when it was really important."Įven though Bandai Namco is now the larger company, they still give Capcom and Street Fighter respect as the originators of fighting games as we know them according to the Tekken Director. "When Ono gave us the date for an important Street Fighter announcement, we often rescheduled our own announcement to not overlap," continued Harada. It's not like we arrange dates or anything. "We try not to release at the same time of the same year. ![]()
